Job Description
The Herbert College of Agriculture at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is looking for vibrant, dynamic individuals interested in working in a team environment dedicated to providing excellent customer service.

The position is an hourly, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track staff position that provides an exciting opportunity to be a part of Herberts Student Services group which is comprised of the following departments: Recruitment/Enrollment services, Advising, Student Life, Marketing/Communications, and Employer Relations/Career development.

This is an on-campus position.



Responsibilities
  • Arrange travel and prepare reimbursements for exempt staff including hotels, airlines, registrations, etc.
  • Set up virtual and hybrid meetings
  • Coordinate, and arrange logistics for, individual prospective student tours
  • Generate and maintain scholarship award letter system through Scholarship Manager
  • Prepare reports using university and publicly available information
  • Maintain system information files, eg Teams, Scholarship Manager
  • Prepare, distribute and manage information in electronic platforms such as Microsoft Teams including minutes and supporting documents for College-level meetings (e.g., student services group, Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Councils, etc.) and projects
  • Coordinate Student Services Group event logistics. Schedule location, oversee catering, room set-up and clean-up. Plan and manage programmatic budget. Work with finance team to open and close fund accounts for events.
  • Identify vendors and assist with contracts for events.
  • Work closely with campus event partners including transportation and facilities
  • Assist with College-level events hosted by the Dean and executive staff.
  • Represent the Herbert College of Agriculture through involvement and partnership with departmental and campus offices, staff, and faculty related to data analysis and event logistics.
  • Maintains membership in appropriate career organization for professional development and enhancing recognition of the College's students.
  • Serves on appropriate campus committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: 5 years' experience in office or higher education environment with experience working with data sets and generating reports.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Skilled in verbal and written communication to successfully understand and relay information
    • Must have excellent organizational skills
    • Able to accurately create meeting minutes while the meeting is occurring with minimal revision needed after the meeting
    • Able to, or be able to readily learn how to, use a variety of software for information enterting and analysis related to students, travel entry, and other aspects of the job, e.g., DARS, BANNER, Salesforce, DASH, PowerBI, Excel, Curriculog, etc.
    • Must be skilled in the ability to navigate websites, spreadsheets, and other forms of information and able to collage the information into reports
    • Must be skilled in the use of technology for information entry, collection, and reporting purposes, including development of tables and graphs
    • Must have knowledge of, or be able to readily learn, academic program structures, functions and components.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 1 year experience working in office or higher education setting (2 years working in paid position as a college student will match the 1 year experience).

Compensation and Benefits
  • UT market range: MR05
  • Anticipated hiring range: $42,000-$52,000
